EMPOWERING
YOUNG MINDS
THE WORLD OPENS UP WHEN YOU
SEE WHAT’S POSSIBLE
We’re one of the few organisations working with young people across the full education journey from primary school through to post-16.
Research shows that gender stereotypes and limiting beliefs about what careers are ´for them´ can develop from a young age. Our programmes gives children and young people the opportunity to meet a diverse range of role models, explore different industries and discover a variety of career pathways. By seeing people with different backgrounds and experiences, girls and boys can challenge stereotypes, broaden their horizons and start to see new possibilities for themselves.
Through interactive workshops and practical activities, pupils explore their strengths, build confidence and develop communication, teamwork and leadership skills. They learn to speak up, share their ideas and recognise what makes them unique.
Interactive workshops and activities support children to recognise their strengths, build communication skills and develop confi dence particularly for those who may not always see themselves represented or encouraged.
Pupils apply and interview to become a POW Ambassador, giving them the opportunity to represent their peers and take part in experiences throughout the year.
Ambassadors attend Inspiration & Development Days, meet business role models, visit workplaces and develop leadership, networking and presentation skills. They then share their experiences with other pupils back at school, helping to spread what they’ve learned.
We support young people in Years 7–13 to build confidence, develop essential skills and explore their future beyond the classroom. Our programmes can support schools to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks for careers education and guidance.
Our Aim High programme is an Interactive, in-school event connecting young people with inspiring role models, different career pathways and the world of work. Students take part in practical activities, develop networking and communication skills and have the opportunity to ask questions and make connections with employers.
We also offer more intensive programmes support young people who may be disengaged from learning, at risk of exclusion or experiencing low confidence. Through coaching, group activities and practical experiences, we help them build self-belief, recognise their strengths and develop the skills to move forward.
Role models are an important part of our programmes, giving young people the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds, industries and career paths and see what’s possible for them.
YOUNG PEOPLE FACE INCREASING PRESSURE ACADEMICALLY, SOCIALLY AND EMOTIONALLY. BUILDING SELF-BELIEF IS KEY TO HELPING THEM NAVIGATE CHALLENGES, STAY ENGAGED AND MOVE FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE
Resilience and bouncing back
When young people believe in themselves, they are more likely to view setbacks as part of learning rather than failure. This mindset supports resilience, helping students recover from challenges, manage stress and keep going when things feel difficult.
Inspiration through role models
Exposure to diverse and relatable role models helps young people see what’s possible. By hearing real stories and experiences, students are encouraged to explore their interests, believe in their potential and imagine futures they may not have considered before.
Purposeful goal setting
With increased confidence and clarity, young people are better able to identify their strengths, set realistic goals and take positive steps towards their future whether in education, training or work.
