What an incredible start to the journey for our PoW Ambassadors as they came together for the very first time at AV Dawson for our PoW Development Day.
A huge thank you to AV Dawson for hosting us so generously and creating such an inspiring environment for the day.
From the moment our ambassadors arrived, armed with their brand-new PoW notebooks and pens, there was a real sense of excitement in the room.
This was the beginning of something special.
The agenda was packed with engaging sessions focused on networking, ambassadorship and essential workplace skills. We were delighted to welcome enthusiastic business professionals who didn’t just attend, they truly showed up. They actively participated, shared their expertise and offered invaluable industry insights, giving our ambassadors a genuine window into the world of work.
The day began by exploring the local business landscape. Our ambassadors gained powerful insights into the wide range of job sectors thriving across the Tees Valley and the exciting career pathways available right on their doorstep. It’s always impactful when young people can see opportunity in the place they call home.
We then jumped into the art of networking and what a session it was.
Our ambassadors developed their communication skills, built confidence and began forming meaningful connections. Watching them step outside their comfort zones and find their voice was a proud moment.
While networking was in full swing, the Spark team led tours around the top floor of AV Dawson, offering incredible views across the Tees Valley. Standing there, looking out over the landscape, brought everything into perspective. From engineering to renewable energy and logistics, the diverse career pathways available were quite literally in front of their eyes.
It was a truly engaging and thought-provoking day, one that equipped our ambassadors with knowledge, practical skills and, most importantly, confidence. They now return to school not just as participants, but as empowered ambassadors ready to share their insights and inspire others.
This is only Day 1…
Stay tuned as the PoW Ambassadors continue their journey.
