Power of Women is more than an organisation, it’s a growing network of people who believe in equality, opportunity and the power of connection.
Our network brings together women from across the Tees Valley and beyond, from different industries, backgrounds and stages of their careers. Through our events and community, we create opportunities to meet new people, share experiences, learn from each other and build meaningful connections.
It’s a space to connect, collaborate, support one another and make a difference, while helping fund our work with young people across the Tees Valley.
Whether you’re new to the network or have been part of POW from the beginning, there’s always an opportunity to connect, get involved and be part of the community.
We create spaces where women can build confidence, share their experiences and recognise their strengths. Through connection, support and encouragement, we help women feel empowered to take their next step, whatever that looks like for them.
Our community is about bringing people together. Through networking events, conversations and shared experiences, we create opportunities to meet new people, build relationships, collaborate and become part of a supportive network across the Tees Valley.
We believe learning comes in many forms. Our events give women access to new ideas, different perspectives, inspiring speakers and practical knowledge they can take into their careers, businesses and everyday lives.

OUR POWWOW EVENTS BRING WOMEN TOGETHER TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS, SHARE EXPERIENCES, LEARN FROM INSPIRING SPEAKERS AND CREATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES.
Role Models Matter
Too many women and young people still lack access to visible, relatable role models. Gender bias, institutional barriers and stereotypes can make it harder for women to see themselves progressing in certain industries and leadership roles.
Connection and Confidence
Networking is about more than exchanging business cards. Strong connections can provide support, encouragement and a sense of belonging, helping women share experiences, overcome self-doubt and feel more confident in spaces where they may not always feel they belong.
Growing our impact
Our events are about creating something bigger than what happens in the room. When women connect, share knowledge and support one another, those connections can lead to collaboration, new opportunities and a stronger community.
And there’s a bigger purpose: our events help fund Power of Women’s work with young people across the Tees Valley, helping us create more opportunities for the next generation.

Power of Women is a community interest company dedicated to building confidence, creating opportunities and unlocking potential for young people across the Tees Valley.
Spearheaded by the Late Professor Jane Turner OBE DL, this campaign embodies Jane’s determination and commitment to improving life chances of girls in the Tees Valley region. We want to give girls and young women of the region the inspiration, tools and support that they need to take control over the direction of their own lives, and to not just survive, but thrive.
