EVERYONE HAS A ROLE TO PLAY

IN CREATING A FAIRER FUTURE FOR ALL

Gender equality benefits everyone. We work with girls, boys, women and men to challenge stereotypes, encourage positive attitudes and create a fairer future together.

We believe everyone has a role to play in creating change. By learning, listening and working together, we can create environments where everyone feels respected, valued and able to be themselves.

Being an ally means recognising that gender inequality affects everyone and choosing to be part of creating change.

For boys and young men, this can mean challenging stereotypes, speaking up when something isn’t right, treating others with respect and helping to create spaces where everyone feels valued and able to be themselves.

For men in business and the wider community, allyship can also mean using your experience, influence and connections to open doors for others. Being a role model, sharing your career journey, supporting young people and challenging outdated ideas about gender can all make a difference.
EQUALITY BENEFITS EVERYONE

Allyship isn´t just about agreeing with equality, it´s about taking action. Small actions, such as challenging stereotypes, calling out inappropriate behaviour, creating inclusive spaces and supporting others, can help create lasting change.

BE PART OF THE CHANGE

You don´t have to have all the answers to be an ally. Be curious, be willing to learn and use your voice and influence to help create a fairer future.

Everyone has the opportunity to use their voice, influence and experiences to support others. Whether that’s speaking up, creating inclusive spaces, encouraging others or simply being someone who listens and supports others.

SUPPORT POW

You can make a difference by sharing your time, experience and connections. We want more men, businesses and organisations to become involved in our work with young people.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH POW
Allyship starts with taking action. You don’t need to have all the answers, your time, experience, voice and influence can all help create change.

There are lots of ways to get involved with Power of Women, from becoming a role model or speaking at an event, to supporting our work with young people, challenging gender stereotypes and helping create more inclusive spaces.

Want to be part of the change? Get involved with POW.

"I’ve been a firm supporter of the Power of Women from the very start. I was proud that PoW’s founder - the late, great Jane Turner - asked me to be part of the inaugural PoW board and Tees Business is proud to nail its colours to the mast as ardent supporters of all that PoW stands for.

I firmly believe that male allies, like myself, have a vital role to play in showing that gender equality is not just a women’s issue or a men’s issue – it’s a collective effort. This isn’t a ‘them versus us’ situation; PoW can’t achieve its aims while excluding half of the population.

Being a male ally is about recognising and actively supporting gender equality, both in public and in private; about being role models to the next generation of men, to inspire them to be part of a fairer world."

Dave Allan - Director, Tees Business

"We believe businesses have an important role to play in helping young people climb the career ladder and conquer the challenges they’ll face along the way, and we’re pleased to be able to share our experience, time and knowledge to help them understand what’s possible and feel better prepared for their future. For us, being an ally to POW is about playing our part in giving the next generation the opportunities, encouragement and confidence to succeed.”

Shane Parkins - Founder, Climb & Conquer
